Spyware is the term used for the advertising software that tends to sneak onto your system. It can cause problems ranging from unwanted pop-ups to severely slowing the performance of your system.
How do I back up my files?
Backing up your files on a regular schedule is very important. Think of it like getting the oil changed in your car. Most programs will store your files in the "My Documents" folder. Simply take these files and burn them to a CD, email them to yourself, or drag and drop them to a USB memory stick (typically about $25 at any electronics store). Floppies are typically not large enough for modern files to be stored on.
